3ds Max Session 1 – Basic Interface, Unit Setup, Standard Primitives

In Session 1 of the 3ds Max tutorial series, we introduce you to the basic interface and essential tools needed to start working in 3D. This session will cover:

  • Basic Interface Overview:

    • Understanding the 3ds Max workspace.
    • Navigating viewports and toolbars.
    • Using essential shortcuts for efficiency.
  • Unit Setup:

    • Setting up units (millimeters, inches, meters, etc.) for precise modeling.
    • Understanding the impact of unit selection on scaling and measurements.
  • Standard Primitives:

    • Creating and modifying basic 3D shapes like cubes, spheres, cylinders, and cones.
    • Adjusting parameters such as size, segments, and orientation.
    • Transforming and positioning objects in the scene.

By the end of this session, you will have a strong foundation in navigating 3ds Max, setting up your workspace, and creating simple 3D models using standard primitives.
